Amaris was now in a panic. Not only did she need to get out of the river, but the only one there to save her was someone that she did not know. The tent was beginning to sink as the weight of the water filling it was pushing it downward. The ropes had become so tangled around Amaris’ feet in the water that it was making it hard for her to kick to stay afloat. There was no one else in sight. If she did not let this wolf pull her out of the water she would drown. Amaris sucked in a breath. She never dreamed that Marco was helping Adam. “But then Gran contacted me and told me to find you. She said that you were in the river and to get you safe. They will meet us there.” Marco continued unaware that Amaris’ heart rate had just spiked in fear. “Gran is awake?! Where are they? Is everyone else ok?” Marco looked at her questioningly. “I do not know. Gran contacted me in a dreamscape and told me to take you to my hunting cabin. Anna bounded into the bathroom and gave Amaris a big hug. Amaris was so relieved and happy to see her that she nearly crushed her with the hug that she gave her. “Your alive and safe!” Anna gushed as she pulled back from Amaris. “Why didn’t you message me?” Amaris looked at Anna funny “What do you mean? I was washed away by the river. I don’t even have a clue where my phone is.” Shaking her head no, Anna raised her hand and pointed to her head “You know, the telepathy thing. He waves Lyle over, and Amaris follows behind too. Marco turns back to his computer monitor but scoots his chair to one side so that Lyle can take a look. It was video footage from a camera. The footage was grainy, black and white, and was from a camera mounted high up but you are still able to see that the man on the screen is Adam. He appeared to be waiting for someone. After a few seconds, a dark colored car pulls up and rolls down the window. It was a woman at the wheel. Adam bent down and kissed her. They spoke for a few minutes. The conversation became an argument, and the woman sped off without any warning. Marco rewound the video and played it again, but slowed it down to the part where the woman’s face was the most visible. Their little group stared at each other for a minute. Marco was the first one to regain his senses and get to work on the computer station in front of him. Anna turned and put an arm around Amaris and brought her over to the station that she had been working at earlier. Pulling a chair up Amaris looked at the screen. “So what are you doing?” Amaris asked Anna. Anna was typing furiously and clicking on different screens quickly.“I’m trying to find the actual prophecy wording on the internet. It used to be available on most of the official werewolf websites, but now all I can find are paraphrased versions of it. It’s like someone doesn't want anyone to know what it really says. Thye only want their version of the prophecy out there. Or at least their condensed take on what it says. They all say the same thing. I have a few more places to check. Marco told Anna and Amaris to get all the provisions that they could find together and pack them in the remaining 2 backpacks. Anna was delighted when she found Marco's stash of caramello bars in the cabinet. He too had hidden spaces in the walls that had packs of things ready to go. "Marco, are all werewolves so paranoid? They rode in the truck for a while in silence after that. Amaris heard Anna’s voice in her head. “Testing, Testing. After making contact with a very freaked out Anna's dad, Amaris also contacted Anna's mother and now they were all in the loop. "I am not sure this whole mind linking instataneous communication with my parents thing will be working in my favor as a teenager." Anna laughed. Marco chuckled.
