The four wolves headed toward the creek. They were now able to hear others moving in the woods. Whether they were wolf or man Amaris was not able to determine, but at least she could hear them now. Once they reached the creek, they turned and followed it toward the park area where Horis had told them that they would be able to find the camper to get away. They reached the edge of the park and decided to change back to their human forms so it would be easier to blend in. The girls changed back first and got dressed and then the guys. They all walked as a group up to the parking lot. One look told them that it was full of campers. A popular tourist destination, there were many people there that traveled by RV. “What do we do now?” Anna asked looking deflated. Marco pulled the keys out of his pocket and looked at them. He quickly took one of the keys off the key ring and handed it to Lyle. “We split up. Anna your with me and Amaris your with Lyle, that way none of us looks suspicious.
The girls both awoke in the bedroom in the back of the RV. Amaris did not remember walking back here or being moved, but she guessed they were both carried there. She could smell bacon and coffee and cinnamon rolls. Anna rolled over, pulling the covers over her head, and went back to sleep. Amaris climbed out of bed and headed to the en-suite. The bathroom had a huge shower for an RV. She decided that she needed one and hopped in. The water was hot and welcome. She found her backpack already waiting for her in the room and was able to change quickly and give Anna the opportunity to take a shower as well. Amaris followed the wonderful smell of coffee and hot cinnamon rolls out into the main living area and was surprised to see Lyle with a cook’s apron on, and a tea towel over his shoulder. “Good morning. I wasn’t sure what you girls would feel like for breakfast, but I know cinnamon rolls are your go to breakfast when you are stressed, and I think you have been doing a lot of that late
It was a huge, shiny, white, plane with black and gold stripes and lots of windows. It had two huge engines mounted on the tail. A man and a woman walked across the tarmac toward the RV. The man was burly with a beard and was dressed causally in a flannel shirt and jeans. The woman walking beside him was dressed in a crisp white blouse and black pants with her hair pulled back into a neat chignon. The two looked like a pair of opposites. Marco walked to the side door of the RV and exited followed closely by Anna and then Lyle. Amaris went out last. The pilot and Marco embraced, and then he introduced his co-pilot to Marco. She was stunningly beautiful. She watched intently as Anna and Lyle walked up toward her. Amaris was following directly behind Lyle. The co-pilot watched Anna very closely. “Lewis and Lynn this is Anna and Lyle, and behind Lyle is Amaris. This is my old army buddy, Lewis and his co-pilot Lynn. They are going to take us to Ageli Lykon.” As soon as Marco said her name
There were 3 black SUVs that were waiting to come in the gate. Amaris watched them with interest. Apart from their little group there did not appear to be anyone else at the airport. The plane had reached the end of the taxi way and was turning onto the runway for take off. The lead vehicle got the gate to open and burst through. The two following vehicles hitting the gas also and making it through before the gate closed. They were all gaining speed and hurrying along the far taxi way toward the runway. Suddenly the plane engines revved and they were all pushed back into their seats. Amaris who was now suspicious of the SUVs called out for Marco and Lyle to look out the windows on her side of the plane. Marco unbuckled his belt and peered out the window only briefly before he turned and hurried toward the cockpit. Marco opened the door and began to talk with Lewis in furious whispers. The plane’s engines revved higher. The plane was moving fast now. The SUVs were closing in and had spl
. “How did you do that? Did you know that you could do that?” Lyle asked turning her to face him. The answer must have been on Amaris’ face, because Marco spoke up first. “I think the question is do you know how you did that? That is the first time you healed someone isn’t it?” He ducked his head to meet Amaris’ eyes that were looking at the ground while she searched her mind to remember what she had done. A voice broke through in her head. “Mari, are you alright? That was amazing!! How did you do that? Another new power, do you have any others?” It was Anna’s voice in her head. It snapped her out of her stupor. Amaris shook her head. “No. I’ve never done that before. I am not even sure how I did it. It seemed like I just thought about it and then did it. I don’t even know if I could do that again.” Amaris looked around at the other three who were all staring at her. Lewis poked his head around the corner, pulling one of his earphones off his ear in the process. "Hey, is Marco going
Amaris took Lyle’s hand and led him to the back of the plane, which had its own bedroom. She knew that she should get some sleep, but the attraction to this man was burning out of control. Lyle followed her almost reluctantly. Amaris pulled him into the room and shut the door behind her. She disregarded the one eyebrow raised look of Anna as she passed her by. Amaris faced Lyle and started walking towards him. Lyle began to say something to her but she did not care. It was like she was possessed. She just wanted one thing and she was going to have him. She wrapped her arms around him and once again on her tip toes she reached up and tried to kiss him. Lyle pulled his head back away from her. He looked like he was in pain, and his hands went up to his neck and unwound Amaris’ arms from his neck. This suddenly registered with Amaris. He was rejecting her. Had she waited too long to make her feelings known. She wanted him as a mate. She had thought that he wanted her too. Now he was rejec
Anna returned several minutes later with a small pouch and a coffee mug. “Here are the herbs. He said to soak a tablespoon in a mug of hot water once a day. He said he drinks it just like a cup of tea. You can’t add anything to it though, and he said it is not the greatest tasting stuff. Here you go bottoms up.” Anna said handing Amaris the cup. “He said to wait half an hour and then you should feel better. For what it’s worth, he seemed genuinely concerned about you. I don’t think he was rejecting you but protecting you from yourself. That man has got it bad!” Anna said sitting down next to Amaris with a smile. “Marco said we should be there in 5 hours, so why don’t we lay down and take a quick nap, and then we will be fresh and ready to go and also there is a bathroom with a shower in here so we can shower. I don’t know about you, but I sure could use one.” Anna fell backwards onto her side of the bed and closed her eyes with a sigh. She was out almost instantly. Amari
Marco grabbed the towel out of Anna’s hand and passed it to Lyle who covered Lewis with it. He put the other body in the galley closet to get it out of sight, and then walked back into the cockpit and grabbed the headset and mic. “Santorini tower this is Gulf Stream November Alpha 2563 declaring an emergency. We are at 38,000 feet. Pilot and Co-pilot are down. In need of walk through assistance for landing.” Marco had the headset on so only he could hear the response. There was a brief pause while he listened to the directions from the tower. “Roger Santorini will hold at 38,000 feet and await further instructions.” Marco took off one earpiece and turned back to the others in the main area. “They are getting someone to walk us through landing. You guys better batten down the hatches and buckle up. Lyle when your done I will need you up here. “ Marco put the earphones back in place and focused forward Amaris and Anna grabbed all the plates of food and threw them in the dish tray in th
