The guards outside of the General’s tent eyed us with open hostility. I hated that my family was being subjected to their prejudice. It was not fair for them at all. It was taking all of my self-control to refrain from ripping the bastards to shreds.

“I request an audience with General Madelina,” I said as I tried my best to keep the irritation out of my voice with how they were looking at my people.
