Chapter 36: Kara

Ryder was taking a bath in his bathroom. The cold water from the shower cooled his skin as he washed off the dirt. The bathroom walls were painted dark blue and water shimmered all around.

After he finished showering, Ryder felt relieved. He grabbed a white towel from above the frame to wrap around his waist. It had been a good day because he had completed the tasks he needed to do.

He walked out of the bathroom into his bedroom, which seemed fancy to him. He looked around and noticed the dark blue curtains blocking the evening sun. The room had a big bed that took up most of the space. Thinking about the bed made him think of Kara and he smiled.

There was a knock at the door, so Ryder went downstairs to see who it was. To his surprise, it was Kara. She was wearing a pink top and blue jeans. Seeing her made his heart skip a beat, but he noticed that her eyes didn't look as bright as usual. He could tell something was wrong.
