The werewolf protector

Lucas steps closer to her, his hand still outstretched. "I am Lucas," he says in a low voice. "And you are?"

Emma hesitates, unsure of what to do. She looks at his hand, then back up at his face. His eyes are intense, almost predatory, but there's a hint of something else there too—something she can't quite put her finger on.

"I'm Emma," she finally manages to whisper, taking his hand tentatively.

Lucas gives her a small smile, but it doesn't quite reach his eyes. "I assure you, Emma, I mean you no harm. If I wanted to hurt you, I would have done so already."

His words send a shiver down her spine, but she can't deny the truth in them. He had the opportunity to attack her earlier, but he didn't. Maybe he really isn't a threat.

Emma takes a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves. She looks up at Lucas, taking in his rugged features and piercing gaze.

"What was that thing that attacked me?" she asks, her voice trembling. "And what are you?"

Lucas looks at her with surprise. "You’ve never seen a Lycan before?" he asks incredulously.

Emma shakes her head, still trying to wrap her head around the concept of werewolves and other supernatural creatures. "No," she whispers. "I’ve only heard of them in stories." She uttered, doubt and curiosity etched on her face.

Lucas chuckles at the irony of it all. An Argent is a family known for hunting and killing supernatural creatures, knowing nothing about their existence.

Lucas chuckled, the sound low and rumbling. "I'm a werewolf," he said, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

Emma glared at him, not sure what to think. "That's impossible," she said, her voice rising with incredulity. "Werewolves aren't real. They're just stories."

Lucas laughed, a sound that made Emma's skin crawl. "You humans always amuse me," he said. "So quick to believe in the supernatural, but so ignorant of what's really out there."

Emma frowned.  "What do you mean?"

Lucas sighed, his eyes darkening with a sadness that Emma couldn't quite place. "There are more things in heaven and earth, Emma, than are dreamt of in your philosophy," he said. "Werewolves, vampires, witches, and more We've been here all along, hiding in plain sight. The creature that attacked you is a Lycan. They're a type of werewolf, but they're different from us. They're more feral and dangerous. Unlike us, they do not have the ability to transform into a full wolf."

Emma felt a chill run down her spine. This was all too much for her to take in. She looked at Lucas, trying to make sense of what he was saying. "But why have I never seen anything like that before?" she asked.

Her skepticism irritated Lucas, who shrugged. "Maybe you just haven't been paying attention," he said. "Or maybe you've been lucky. Most people who get involved with our kind don't come out alive."

Emma felt a lump form in her throat. "What do you want from me?" she asked. “And what did that Lycan want from me?”

Lucas shook his head. "What the attacker wanted from you? Well, aside from a desire to hurt you, that is what I hope to find out. Let's hope that it was just a coincidence that you got attacked, or there will be more of them shortly. As for me, I don't want anything from you, Emma," he said. "Oh… of course, except protecting you like I have done these past few weeks while you wasted away at clubs and parties." He scoffed.

Emma looked shocked when he said those words. How did he know what she had been up to?

"Don’t be so shocked. I have been watching you since you returned to Beacon Hills, and now that we have come into contact, I am curious to know why you have come back here after twenty years. A rich kid with a bright future, Beacon Hills doesn't seem like the right place for you."

Emma's eyes widen in disbelief as Lucas admits to having been watching her since she returned. So she wasn't crazy after all? The red eyes in the woods, the stalker!!

She can't help but feel a sense of violation and unease. She musters up the courage to ask him directly if he had been the one stalking her, to which he admits it. Her shock turns to anger, and she demands an explanation.

"Why were you stalking me? What gives you the right to invade my privacy like that?" she asks, her voice trembling with anger.

Lucas's expression remains stoic as he replies, "It is my duty to look after the Argent family as long as they are in this town." "I was simply keeping an eye on you."

Emma furrowed her brows in confusion. "What do you mean, duty? Who are you, really?"

Lucas sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "It's complicated. There's a long history between the Argent family and the supernatural creatures in this town. Let's just say that your family is the bridge between the supernatural and the natural, and my pack and I have a responsibility to keep an eye on things and make sure nothing goes wrong." He replied coldly.

Emma was stunned. Her family's legacy had always been shrouded in mystery, but she never thought it involved hunting monsters. She looked at Lucas, trying to make sense of everything. "So, you're some..."

"Let us save this conversation for later," he interrupted her immediately. "As of now, you should come with me," he said and turned to the west. The young energetic werewolf was already getting irritated with her pestering that he preferred fighting off Lycans to this question and answer segment.

Emma stood there, unsure of what to do. She was still in shock from the events that had just unfolded, and the fact that the naked man in front of her claimed to be a werewolf didn't make things any less confusing. She hesitated when Lucas asked her to follow him, and he noticed.

"Why are you reluctant to follow me?" he asked, his eyes searching hers.

Emma found herself struggling to keep her eyes from wandering down to his exposed body. She cleared her throat and responded, "Wouldn't you be hesitant if a stranger offered to take you somewhere?"

Lucas looked down at his nudity and quickly covered his manhood with his right hand. "Right, sorry about that," he said, before dashing off with the speed of light, sending dry leaves afloat.

Emma watched in awe as he ran off, amazed at his supernatural abilities. She wondered if all werewolves were capable of such feats. She swallowed hard as she reminisced over his naked body, she had seen naked men before, but his body was impressive. Her dirty thoughts were interrupted when Lucas returned less than a minute later, fully dressed.

He asked her if they could go now, and Emma hesitated once again. She didn't know if she could trust him, despite his claims that he was there to protect the Argent family. However, she knew that she couldn't stay in the woods alone, not after what had just happened.

She nodded, and Lucas led the way through the dense trees. They walked in silence for a while until Emma finally spoke up.

"I still don't understand. Who are the Argent family to you?" Well she had to make sure they weren’t blood related so that she can cleanse her mind of the nasty thoughts she has had in the past few minutes.

Lucas hesitated for a moment before replying. "It's a long story, and not one that I can tell you here. But I promise, I will explain everything to you soon."

Emma nodded, still unsure of what to think. She glanced at Lucas, taking in his chiseled features and the way his muscles moved under his shirt. Despite everything, she couldn't deny that he was attractive, but this was not the time or place for that way his muscles moved under his shirt. Despite everything, she couldn't deny that he was attractive, but this was not the time or place for that. They were in the middle of the fucking woods, late at night!

They continued walking through the woods, and Emma couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched. She glanced around nervously, but saw nothing out of the ordinary.

Finally, they reached a small cabin hidden away in a clearing. Lucas opened the door and gestured for Emma to enter.

"Make yourself at home; you are safe here," he said, before disappearing into another room.

Emma looked around the small cabin, taking in the rustic furnishings and the smell of wood smoke. She wondered how long Lucas had been living here and what his life was like.

As she sat down on a worn sofa, she couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. She was in the middle of nowhere with a man she barely knew, one who she had just watched transform from a devilish-looking wolf to a man. She didn't know what to expect next, but she knew that her life would never be the same again. This was the night where everything changed!
