Chapter Seventy Six

“Thanks,” Elena muttered as Matthew’s car came to a halt, opening the door and getting out of it.

She had just taken a few steps when she heard the slam of the door and turned back to see him following her. Pausing the music she was listening to, she stopped and waited until he got close to her.

“Do you want to come in?” She asked.

“Nope. I’ll see you to the door, make sure you get inside like Craig asked me to, and go back home.” He replied with a grin.

Elena nodded as they walked together towards the porch of the house. Her eyes kept darting towards him at intervals, and she rubbed her hand together, not knowing why she was nervous beside him.

“Thanks,” she mumbled as she opened the door, looking at him with his hands in his pocket.

“Go in.” He nodded to her.

She turned to enter the house but stopped in her tracks,

“Matthew,” she called and faced him again.
