“I’m sorry if it shocked you, but if you had picked up your call, I would have told you.”

“And don’t you have any other friends you can spend the night with?” Elena questioned her.

Gaby sighed as she picked up her bag, throwing it on Elena, which unbalanced her feet.

“Next time, you’ll invite someone in before asking all kinds of questions,” Gaby said, pushing her aside and stepping into the house.

There was a look of surprise on her face; the house was moderately furnished, cozy, and warm. She heaved a deep sigh, inhaling its delicious scent before finding her way to the living room.

“I hate the day I met you,” Elena muttered under her breath and carried the bag, slamming the door close before dumping it on the floor.

She walked to the living room and sat opposite Gaby, their eyes boring holes into each other’s as they stared.

“You can’t stay here. I did not discuss anything like this with my mom before, and it would be a surprise. Just go home, and let’s plan this another day.” Elen
