He seemed surprised by my words and said, “Well, I want to be the best version of myself in everything, but I don’t want to be better than anyone! And I don’t think I can be better than you in many things.”

I looked at him in surprise. I could not believe what he was saying, but at that moment, a short memory of his attitude came to me. In reality, he was not an arrogant man or anything like that. He was kind and calm and, most importantly, reliable.

Without saying anything, he threw the bottle of water at me as he stood up and said, “Ok, please don’t run anymore. I won’t be able to follow you.”

I, smiling, opened the pot of water and, looking into his eyes, I said, “I think you need a little more water.”
