Chapter 71 - Ryder

I walk with Thor and Selene into the portal that Selene created and walk out into a beautiful lawn surrounded by the bluest, clearest lake that I’ve ever seen. It seems like it’s mid summer, near sunset, the air colored a buttery yellow that you only see in fairytale books. Fish leap out of the lake every so often and there are deer grazing by the water like some scene out of a picture book.

Beside the lake, there is a huge castle that continues on beyond what I can see. Humanoid figures and those in a more bestial forms come out of the doors, fly off of the balconies, or swim from tunnels into the lake.

“Where are we?” I ask.

Selene smiles at me indulgently. “We’re in Valhalla.”

“Ho-ly shit!” I say on a whistle, looking at my surroundings once more. This is insane. No wonder it looks like it came from a fairytale book. This was what some of the original ‘fairytales’ were based off of.
