Chapter Twenty Nine ~ Back home

“Are you sure about this?” William asks and I look at him so shocked that he’d even ask me such a question.

I sigh as I continue to pack the toys, “Of course I’m sure. A man’s life is on the line here William.” I remind him even though he doesn’t need it.

He runs a frustrated hand in his hair and I frown not understanding why he’s so worked up about this whole situation. I know for a fact that I never told him about why I couldn’t return to New York.

“I understand that. Can't Dr. Rodriguez request the patient to be flown here like your father's case?" he asks.

I stop packing and look him in the eye, “No. My father needed the machines and those are glued to the ground incase you've forgotten. Why are you so worked up anyway?”

“I saw that man when he came. I’m not blind Emily, I know he broke your heart.” He says and I freeze.

How did he know Liam came or how did he know he is my ex? How much does he know? “I shouldn’t move to a city because of an Ex? Oh please.” I joke
