Chapter 40: support of mother-in-law
Brent reintroduced her to me saying that her name was Alexa and she was the daughter of his father's friend who was also their business partner. They both grew up together and she always had been like a sister to him. As Brent was introducing her, she held Brent arm and was being a bit too touchy. I didn't like it. I was displeased by the way she was behaving. She was definitely trying to tell me that she was more close to him than me. When Brent called her his little sister, she was clearly displeased by hearing it.
I was constantly staring at their arms and was waiting for Brent to remove her arm from his. But to Brent she was a kid and he didn't even mind it. I knew Brent had such a simple and naive heart but I was raised among many hardships and was clearly able to judge people from their expressions and body languages.
