With a smile on his face, the elder asked, "Why would you put me through the stress of coming here when you would have just swung by the courthouse for a relaxed chit-chat over a cup of blood?"

Walking into the sitting room, I sat down on a couch positioned across from his, facing him directly. Choosing not to address his question.

I had no intention of stopping by for a casual conversation with him. There was no particular reason or desire on my part to engage in a chit-chat with him.

"I have no time for chit-chats," I said plainly, not ready to feed his thirst for getting information from me, which is the reason why he was here in the first place.
