Cynthia only gave her father a vague explanation the other day at the hospital, and he wanted to know all the details of what happened in the past two years.

Cynthia responded calmly, "There's nothing much to say. I was just a substitute. Now that the game is over, we're going our separate ways."

Mr. Yates was taken aback.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Mr. Yates asked.

"I'm not a child. I can handle these things. Besides, he's handsome," Cynthia answered.

Mr. Yates did not feel relieved by her words. On the contrary, he felt even more uneasy.

"Cyn..."

"If there's nothing else, let's stop here. I didn't sleep well last night, so I need to catch up on some rest," Cynthia interrupted, not wanting to say more.

"Her daughter works at the Yates Group. You might run into her."
