My Tuesday passed with agonizing slowness. Thankfully, no one pressed me about my absence. I was surprised that Emma didn’t throw some snide remark my way, but she practically ignored me. Maybe she had moved onto terrorizing someone else.

I almost skipped out of my halls to his car when the time came. My stomach began doing flips when I saw him waiting for me. As soon as I was close enough, I was pulled into him, his mouth eager against my own.

“Mmm,” he murmured. “It’s good to see you.”

I smiled into his lips, letting myself sink into his scent. He was still wearing his shirt from work, and I pressed my palms against the fabric that highlighted the muscles underneath. I still felt like I had to pinch myself every time he touched me.

When we got back to his apartment, he took my things from me quickly, pushing me in the direction of his bedroom.
