Cora in trouble

A week later at the hospital…

“Where have you been? For the past one week, you’ve not shown yourself here. Cora, do you hate me now?” Mrs. Woods asked calmly.

Cora was leaning by the door. She wouldn’t go in nor out. “The hospital called me. They wanted me to speak with you about your treatment.”

“I’m fine, they are exaggerating.”

Cora ignored her words and continued: “Mom, you stopped receiving treatment ever since I told you that sister was the one behind your medical care. Fine. If that’s what you want, so be it.” She turned and was about to leave when Mrs. Woods panicked and asked:

“Where are you going?”

“What? Do you think I have no job? I need to be at work before my shift starts. Otherwise I can’t pay mine and your bills. Since you’ve decided to kill me before my time.” She rolled her eyes and walked away.
