Genevieve's Point Of View

The evening air was heavy with the scent of anticipation as I approached the restaurant. Its warm, inviting lights spilled out onto the pavement, beckoning me inside. Yet, my steps faltered as I felt a familiar weight in my hand. My car keys, once securely held, slipped from my trembling fingers and clattered to the ground.

I crouched down, my eyes fixed on the fallen keys, and that's when I saw her. Aurelia. Or someone who bore an uncanny resemblance to her. My heart leaped into my throat as I whispered her name, almost afraid to believe my eyes. "Aurelia?"

For a brief, electrifying moment, our gazes locked. It was as if time itself had slowed, and the world around us faded away, leaving only the two of us suspended in this charged moment. I saw the fear in her eyes, the same fear she had felt when I had kidnapped her, a memory that haunted my nightmares.

The realization struck me like a lightning bolt. She couldn't still be here, in this pack, could she? T
