Definitely that was Samuel’s doing. She remembered that he had told her sometimes back that she will have a raise in her salary. She had rejected him but it seems that as always he went ahead and did things behind her back.

Why didn’t he see it fit to consult her? She was not a beggar who needed him to donate his money. He can use it to take care of the people who really need it.
