“Are you sure about this, Nicholas? Are you sure you won't regret it?” Liam asked, staring back at Nicholas with an unimpressed look on his face.

“When speaking to me, you've got to be specific, buddy. What exactly am I supposed to regret?” Nicholas asked, feigning ignorance and nonchalance.

“Stop playing with me, Nick. Are you sure you're not going to regret sending her to that place? You know very well that if she gets lost, there's a high chance she could wander out of our territory and run into a rogue. Aren't you worried about that?” Liam questioned, still in disbelief that his friend could be so heartless.

He had tried everything possible to convince him not to go ahead with punishing Lydia, but Nicholas was adamant, and he knew exactly why.

“They're guards everywhere, Liam and I already made sure to inform them to be on alert. Nothing is going to happen to the girl,” Nicholas assured.
