Alec’s POV

I felt relieved for the first time in two full days that were only filled with pain, anger, and disappointment. And so did my wolf.

I felt anxious the entire time I was checking out the girls. I was holding my breath, barely keeping my heart rate from fluctuating and alerting the alpha and his lackeys that I was looking for a specific girl among the lines.

I reached the last line and felt despair and panic starting to rise when I couldn’t see her yet.

I couldn’t smell her unique, sharp citrus smell either because of the damn spell rendering my wolf weak and unable to sense her presence among them, which added to my anxiety when I reached the last two girls at the end of the line.

But then I saw her.

And my heart couldn’t be more relieved to see her despite everything she has done to me.
