Lucian's Pov

The meeting was not yielding any result so when Muriel left, I followed her quietly leaving the elders to debate on their chosen topic. She entered her room and I waited for her to come out but she did not. So, I opened the door and saw her holding a paper. This was strange.

The Muriel that I know will scream immediately. I stepped into her room but she did not. Was it that she did not notice my presence? I could see that she was lost in thought and I stepped closer to her but she did not turn to see who it was.

"Muriel." I called gently and she turned, looking at me with confusion written all over her face. She was still holding that paper and I am curious to know what was written in it.

"Why are you with that paper? What is in it?" I asked, reaching for the paper and she hid it behind her back. I was surprised at her action and at the same time more inquisitive to know what is in it.
