"What? What's going on there, Elisa?" Lucians question sent fear coursing through me, making my knees tremble.

I hastily got up, intending to retreat to the room I had come from earlier, a decision I now wished I hadn't made. But before I could get far, a strong arm wrapped around me, pulling me closer to a towering figure.

"Oops, now stay calm, little one. We aren't going to hurt you," the large man assured me, his warm smile still on display.
