"Sammy?"

"Hi. Can I come in?" Sammy asked as her clothes and hair were drenched from the rain.

Alex furrowed his brows but nodded and moved aside. She smiled softly and walked inside.

"Wait here. I'll go get you a towel."

Sammy nodded and waited as she saw Alex leave and come back with a soft blue towel. He handed it to her, and she wrapped it around her wet clothes.

"Why are you here?" Alex asked.

It's been 5 years since they saw each other, and she is here now by herself.

"I had to see you, Alex. I missed you. And things aren't so good right now. Alex, my mom...she died a month ago, and I just cried.

Alex quickly gathered her in his arms. Sure, she was crazy, but she wasn't so bad. There were good qualities in her, and Alex still cared about her. Not in a romantic way, not anymore, but he would always care for her. They did have some good times, and she was there for him back when things weren't great for him either.

"I'm so sorry, Sammy," Alex whispered. "How did it happen?"
