"So, I did some investigation and found something I want you to also look into. There is a third person in this crime," he began and Davis was very interested."What did you find out?" he asked and the lawyer placed some documents on the table for them to read. Davis and his boss picked up the documents and started going through them while the lawyer sat down patiently waiting for them to finish."Interesting," Inspector Davis commented."How did you come by this information?" the boss asked. "I can't disclose my source of information to you but this is evidence that Mrs Garcia is innocent. Someone is manipulating the system," the lawyer pointed out. "When you say manipulating the system, what do you mean exactly?" the boss asked looking at the lawyer with a questioning gaze."Someone in the system is leading us to false information," he replied making sure he didn't reveal what he had found out."I see," replied the boss who appeared to be more relaxed now unlike when he had first
She stepped out of the car wearing a crop top with puff sleeves and a handkerchief skirt. She smiled staring at Ethan as she walked towards him from the shed where she had parked her car. "Is that how to greet your wife-to-be?" Jacqueline said striking a pose and resting her hand on her waist. "What was that about?" Ethan asked coldly "What do you mean?" Jacqueline asked closing the gap between them. "The interview," he said "Oh, that," Jacqueline said and got closer to Ethan placing her hands on his chest. Ethan put both hands into his pocket, staring at Jacqueline standing in front of him, almost resting on him. "Jacqueline, I keep my personal life out of the public eye. So why?" he asked still with his hands in his pocket. "I didn't know about that. You already know I am a public figure and someone took a picture of me and you entering Carter's restaurant. That was what brought about the interview. I couldn't say no," she replied wrapping her hands around his neck and tilti
At Garcia's, Mr. Garcia answered the door when he heard a knock. He immediately frowned seeing who was knocking on the door. "We are here for Mrs. Eva Garcia," announced the officer. "What for you?" Mr. Garcia asked "She has been found guilty of kidnapping Ms Camila Garcia," announced the officer "How was she found guilty? We have not been to court so how is it that judgement has already been passed?" Mr. Garcia questioned "Mr. Garcia please step out of the way so we can do our job. If you have any concerns you raise them later. For now, we have an order to arrest Mrs Garcia," the officer replied and gave Mr Garcia an envelope. Mr Garcia opened the envelope and brought out the paper inside and his eyes widened when he read the court order. "How is this happening?" he thought and the officers pushed him aside and entered the house. Asira was coming from the kitchen towards the living room. Mrs Garcia was also descending the staircase when she saw her husband standing at the fro
He dropped to the ground on his knees and fell flat on his face. Camila screamed seeing the gunshot wound on his back. Isabella, Mr Garcia and Inspector Davis ran towards where the lawyer had fallen to the ground from where they were standing, all wondering what was wrong with him.Inspector Davis scanned the entire environment but there was no sign of movement. He was wondering where the gunshot was coming from. Isabella got to the scene and held Camila who could not stop screaming at the horror before her. "Call an ambulance now?" Inspector Davis said checking the lawyer for a pulse. Mr Garcia quickly fetched his phone and dialled 911. He spoke to the operator and was given their location out when his shoulder was shot. "Ahhhhh!" he screamed and also fell to the ground."Get down," Inspector Davis instructed. Some officers moved to the scene quickly seeing what was happening and moved the lawyer's body from the spot to the station. Isabella held Camila leading her to the station
Inspector Davis's phone rang interrupting the conversation. He excused himself and answered the call."Inspector Davis, where are you?" came his boss's voice who sounded angry."At the hospital, sir," he replied "What! Are you ill?" he asked "No sir, we had some casualties," Davis reported. "I want you back at the station now," he commanded"Yes sir," he replied "Make sure you come with the three officers you dragged with you," he added "Yes, sir," Davis replied and the call ended. He went to the ward where Camila and Mr Garcia were lying on beds. Isabella was in the room with the two."How are they doing?" he asked "They are both still sleeping," Isabella replied sitting on the sofa inside the ward for two. "Okay, I am going back to the station. Here is my card. If anything, call me," he said giving Isabella his card."Okay," she replied taking the card from his hand. Inspector Davis went to the word of the man who had shot the lawyer and Mr. Garcia. The two officers were st
As they headed for the exit going into the reception, it dawned on Mrs Garcia, the whole thing was a set-up. A perfect trap. Isabella followed them to the reception and stopped at the waiting area. She stood there helpless as she watched the police dragged Mrs Garcia out of the hospital in handcuff. Mrs. Garcia stopped struggling with the officers as she realized the whole thing was trapped and she fell into it. "How did all this start" she thought. She recalled the day she walked into the same police station and reported Mrs. Carter. "I started this game and now it is game over for me," she thought as the officers put her into the car. The car drove out of the hospital compound back to the police station with Mrs Garcia sitting quietly in the back seat with her head lowered. Silently she cried within herself. She now regrets ever getting involved with Mrs. Carter. Her entire family is now in a mess. Her daughter is pregnant, her husband is lying on a hospital bed together with h
Olivia on the other hand was getting herself ready to take up her new role in Carter's company starting Monday which was just a couple of days away. She was going through all the materials Mr Carter had given her so she could deliver. Weekend, Saturday morning, Olivia opened her eyes to the sound of chirping birds. She realized she had slept with books and papers scattered all over her bed. She pulled herself up and rested her back against the bed headboard. She packed all the books and papers on her bed and placed them on the side table close to her bed. She got down from the bed and went to the bathroom. She picked a simple top and wore it over blue jeans. She wrapped her hair and held it with a pin before stepping out of the room. "Good morning?" she greeted walking into the living room and finding Mr Carter. "Good morning, how was your sleep?" he asked putting his tablet down. "Good," she replied and sat down on the sofa opposite him."Something bad happened?" he said and Oli
"Good morning sir, I was asked to report today. Please where do I go?" she asked and Ethan stared at her for a while. It was fifteen minutes to 6 a.m. and she was at the offices. Most of the employees would start walking in by 7 a.m. At 7. 30 a.m. everyone is at post. The official time for work to start is 8 a.m. She was in too early in Ethan's opinion. She would have to wait an hour and a half to see anyone. "Come with me," he said. She was very new and for some reason, he didn't want to leave her sitting in the waiting area for an hour and a half. "What is your name again?" Ethan asked as he led the way to his office even though he had not forgotten her name."Olivia Williams, Sir," she replied in her soft voice. Aside from her face that looked different, everything about her was just like his Olivia. Her voice, hair colour, skin colour, her body curves, her mannerism and the way she walks was just like Olivia's. There was that aura of innocence around her. "Are you married?"
