18. I'll HAVE TO TAKE YOU FOR TODAY

What the hell is the blood room?

I'm bamboozled with information and a hasty welcome. "Alright. But ma'am, what section will I work in?" I ask, hoping to not piss her off.

"General medicine." She answers, hurriedly, as she wants me out of her office soon. "But you can also do whatever you want. I don't care."

"Alright then," I say, picking up the leaflet and ID card. "I guess I'll see you on Monday then."

She sends me off with a grumble.

Here was I thinking I'll have to go through HR, administration, and those other departments.

I go through the leaflet and try to familiarize myself with the place and people. I even found the store room and bunk room. I was very much interested in the latter because it was clear now that I will be spending more time at the hospital than at home and even when I have a chance to go home, I won't be able to go half the time.

I gave up after half an hour of looking around and talking to new colleagues.
