Chapter 33- I miss her

Four days later

“Jillian, where are the files for the Levou Property?” I press the receiver and ask as I look through folders on my desk.

“On your desk.”

“If it were on my desk, I would see it,” I growl, annoyed, still searching for it with my right hand.

“I put it on your desk this morning.” She says.

“Well, I can’t find it. You know we start construction in a week. I need to review the new blueprint.” I shuffle through papers on my desk, looking for them. She sighs on the receiver, and then a couple of minutes later, my door opens. I look up as she enters my office and heads towards me. She moves a couple of files around.

“I’m telling you it’s not there--” I pause as she hands it to me.

“Here it is.”

“Thank you.” I take it and skip through it. I can feel her eyes on me as I review the blueprint.
