CHAPTER 27.1

My heart was beating nonstop with nervousness. I bit my lip as I watched the car door open.

I could only see half of the body, and I knew it was Aldo. It's definitely him just standing and looking.

From afar, I can see that he is looking at the resthouse. I don't know how many times I prayed that he wouldn't come inside the house because I knew the last time he did that, I lost.

"Are we going to run away again, baby?" I asked Arkan in a whisper, even though I knew he wouldn't be able to answer.

I just looked at Aldo with my shoulders slumped. I stared at his broad back for a long time, and maybe my mind was too treacherous to think about the past with him.

I quickly shook my head to get rid of the memories, but when I looked back at the front, Aldo was gone, but the car was still there.

I was able to get a full look. The thought of him entering the house and seeing Arkan's things there made me nervous again.
