Outside Aurelia Castle, the sky seemed to be getting darker, making Mia sit restlessly on the reading chair in her private room. She had purposely avoided Jaxon because of the incident this morning.
Even Mia's heart was still beating so wildly that she didn't want to go downstairs to join him for breakfast at the dinner table.
“Miss Heart.” Piper's voice came from outside the room.
Mia lowered the novel she had been reading and stopped at page forty without changing pages since five minutes ago. She sighed and opened the door, peeking out.
“Yes?” Mia asked as Piper appeared behind the gap in the door Mia had opened.
“Mr. Bradwood asked me to call you to the library,” Piper said delivering Jaxon's message.
Hearing the man's name, Mia felt goosebumps again. She still wasn't ready to come face to face with him.
“I'll be there,” Mia answered, not wanting to keep Piper waiting long.
