Chapter 25: Jane's POV

The knife hit me in my leg. I fell backwards and I couldn't breathe anymore. Blood was gushing out my leg, my neck was black and blue because of Ryan his hand and my spine got hit so many times, I don't know if I had broken my back. I wanted to drift off and forget the pain. I didn't want to be here anymore. But then I heard Tris scream.

I tilted my heavy head and saw Ryan between her legs. Her dress had ridden up and he pushed her down with his entire body. She was fighting, beating around her with frantic movements but it didn't help. It was like he didn't even feel it. He was saying things but I didn't hear it, a loud peep resounding in my head. Then suddenly he brought his face down to her neck and she screamed. A scream full of pain and hopelessness.

A sort of strength came over me. My last momentum of being clear. He was going to kill Tris and I couldn't let that happen. I stood up, my body protesting but my mind clearer than ever. I removed the knife from my leg, blood rushing
