Alena Fleur
I ignored a call from Abigail and sighed. She must have heard from my mom that I asked her and Dad to come to visit me whenever they managed some time.
I wasn't receiving Abigail's calls because I was still mad at her for hiding about my accident and being in partnership with my parents, so if I did receive her call and spilled any truth, she would most likely pass the words to my parents.
"You okay?" Elian asked, looking at me in concern.
I nodded with a smile and looked back out the car window. We were currently on our way to the office.
"You don't look okay." He brushed a lock of my hair to get a proper look at my face.
Chapter 36: Let It OutAlena Fleur"What?" Elian asked, his eyes wide."Shit, shit, shit," I cursed under my breath and ran to Elian. "I'm sorry, but you need to hide right now."He didn't even ask why, just asked, "Where?"I looked around my nicely furnished one-bedroom apartment and said, "My bedroom. Go, go." I started pushing him towards the door, panicking."Okay, okay, I'm going. Calm down."Before he closed the bedroom door, I said, "I'm so, so sorry, Elian.""It's fine," he said and shut the door.I took a big breath and went to get to the door until I noticed Elia
Chapter 37: UnderstandingAlena Fleur"I'm sorry for lashing out yesterday," I apologized genuinely, but none of my parents were looking at me, which was honestly understandable. I acted like a brat last night. But I needed to speak to them with a calm head and make them see my point of view with hope for a better future.I took a deep breath and started again, "Mom, Dad, I meant everything I said yesterday, and I'm not going to take them back. However, I should have worded them nicely, instead of acting like an immature child. Maybe they burst out at once because I never had the chance to let them out before. Anyway, those may just sound like excuses, and I don't want that. That’s why I hope you will accept my apology because I genuinely feel horrible about it."
Chapter 38: Support SystemAlena Fleur"No, no, it's fine. I'm not busy. I'm just getting off work," I said over the phone."So can we gossip now?" Abigail asked.I laughed shortly and said, "Yes. I'm waiting for Elian to finish his work. Until then, we can gossip."Shortly after my talk with my parents, I started receiving calls from Abigail again. We patched up somehow. She apologized, and while I didn't completely forgive her, I gave her another chance because she was the closest friend I ever had. After that, I shared everything with her, excluding some details, and as far as I knew, she was doing well with keeping secrets."How's your therapy going?" she inquired.
Chapter 39: BirthdayAlena Fleur"I got this covered. You take your mom home. That's more important," I said over the phone."Thanks a lot. I just wish Dad or Lance could be here so that I didn't have to dump all my work on you," Elian grimaced."It's fine. Just take care of her. I will handle everything in the office," I assured."I know. Thanks again. I gotta go now. Bye." He hung up, and I let out a sigh.I put my phone down and smiled down at it sadly, looking at the time that read eight. Only four hours till my birthday.I was pretty sure Elian forgot about it, and I didn't blame him for it one bit.
Chapter 40: ForeverAlena Fleur"See, this feels like home! What was this before, a dungeon?" I asked, looking around Elian's renovated room with pride."Uh-huh," Elian responded.I looked up at him and asked him a little nervously, "You like this, don't you?" I didn't want to completely rule everything, so I wanted to give an equal opinion. Since he didn’t have any, I just kept his favorite color as the theme."Of course. Decors have always been your forte. I suck at them."I smiled, then headed towards the walk-in closet. He trailed behind as we both checked it out. It had already been big enough, but it had been too spaced out, and now the void space was decreased to make space for
Prequel- Chapter 1: Our First Snowy MeetingAlena FleurI turned over a page leisurely, engrossed in the book I was reading. It was quieter than usual in the library, with only the occasional grumbles among the few students at failing to get a ticket to go home this winter vacation. However, that wasn’t my case.I had successfully secured a ticket to Georgia, my hometown, but the flight was tomorrow morning, and right now, I was just spending time in the university library as my roommates should be hustling inside our room to pack their luggage at the last minute. The last thing I wanted was to get caught up in their mess since my things were already neatly packed. I would much rather spend that time burying my nose in a good novel.&ldqu
Prequel- Chapter 2: Let's Ski!Elian Storm"I want this done within two days. And if it is not done by that time, may God have mercy on you because I fucking won't!" I shouted at a warehouse full of men. “Now, get that piece of crap out of my face.”"Yes, Boss!" all of them responded in sync and rushed to clean up the mess made by the bleeding body of the former in charge here. He had the audacity to question my leadership because of my age. So I put him where he belonged.I placed my gun back in my holster and walked out of the dusty old place with Lance on my tail."This is stressful," I murmured, only audible to Lance.
Prequel- Chapter 3: Nonstop FlirtingAlena Fleur"Phew," I heaved a sigh of relief, giving an impressed look at my side of the shared room.I had just finished unpacking my luggage after getting back from vacation in Georgia with my family over the winter break. I generally loved unpacking, but the dread of classes and my part-time job starting tomorrow was eating away at me. I wish vacations never came to an end.I slumped on my bed and looked around at the other two single beds, which were shared by my roommates. I cringed at their disorganized state. God, they made me want to strangle myself or them.Even if I could overlook my roommates' messiness, one of them talked and giggled till late at night with her boyfriend and the other one smoked
