Chapter 59

Helsinki, Finland

Snow has covered this town since I first came a few weeks ago. I've never seen this much snow in my life in San Francisco. The dew covered the kitchen window that overlooked the backyard of the house I lived in while in Finland. Ice framed the edges of the window panes until they looked hazy.

I poured a glass of water and then took five blue tablets and drank them. As I have done the last few weeks, this morning I'm going to visit a large lake that's starting to freeze not far from where I live. I took the thick wool jacket and green parka that hung near the entrance and put it on, I think today's temperature was minus eight degrees Celsius. Much colder than yesterday.

Maybe it's just me who likes walking in the snow in this temperature. Although curling up between warm blankets is also pleasant, it is not as pleasant as feeling the cold wind hitting your face until it freezes.
