Few hours later, the manager handed Tom his pay cheque while looking anywhere but at him.

“The only reason I am not hurling your sorry ass to the cell right now to sleep it off is because according to witness, you were attacked first and secondly, this will be your first offence as far as I know, so I will overlook this misdemeanour and leave you, for now.
