Chapter 25 Morning light

After telling José everything, I lay down on the bed, but I didn't sleep. I couldn't stop thinking about what had happened and the anxiety of what would happen when I met him again. Soon the alarm clock went off and it was time to work, so José and I went to the hotel.

"Why didn't the doll come to work yesterday?" - Sirlene stares at me as soon as I enter the changing room to put on my uniform.

"I don't want to fight, it's better we each stay in our own corner, I need a job and I guarantee you need yours too, be rational."

"Are you calling me stupid? - Maybe I was.

"Please, Sirlene.

I changed clothes as quickly as possible and she stayed quiet in her corner, but our dear manager, put us to work together, in the suite where the owner of the hotel is installed. I knew he wouldn't recognize me if he saw me. In fact, here at the hotel, we chambermaids are invisible. He would signal a time at reception so we could go there. And it would be the easiest thing in the world.
