Chapter 19 –  Small Favor

(Lexi’s POV)

“Why does Sky want to talk to me?”

My eyes widened, almost whispering as I asked Frank when we were done eating breakfast. He just received a call from Catherine to relay the message to me, and after he ended their conversation, he helped me clear the table.

Frank chuckled amusingly, glancing at me and picking up the paper bag on the table.

“Catherine didn’t say, but why do you look so worried?” He asked as he opened the door, stopped while his other hand held the doorknob, and waited for me. “He’ll probably just ask about your first day.”

I nodded, thinking about what I should tell him when my first day as secretary was a mess. Should I say to him about Colonel? Complain about my dislike of dogs? Does he know about his relationship with Lexa? Did Finn tell him about the kiss?

“You’re making me worry, Lexi,” Frank uttered, looking at me with concern. “You’re turning pale. White as a ghost.”
