Chapter 71 –  Something Concrete, Something I can See

(Finn’s POV)

“Kitty?” I almost meowed when she didn’t answer.

When she finally breathed out, she surprised me with her question.

“What are you doing here?” she said worriedly in a hushed tone and walked toward the side table to get a tissue. I thought she would use it to wipe herself, but my work wife returned to me, attempting to clean my shirt.

I caught her wrist. “I should be the one asking you that question. What are you doing here at this hour? You’re supposed to be home and resting.”

She looked tired, which was understandable after what she went through today. With her strong personality, it didn’t surprise me that she handled the situation well, especially when Lexa began crying after getting a word from Jeannie about what had happened to their little sister. Although it confused me for a few moments because I thought Lexi would be the one who would cry, not her. Maybe the hospital bill issue was one concern.
