Chapter 16

Last night, Ashton said I should make coffee for him before he wakes up, so there I am, making coffee for him by six in the morning.

Who unearth takes coffee by this time of the day?

I didn’t complain about it because I feel it was much better than entertaining him- because that’s exactly what most thralls do- in fact, it’s their job to entertain their so-called master. I pour the coffee into his special coffee mug and I head my way to Ashton's room. I make sure I walk carefully so I don’t make a noise. I don’t want Willow to find me anywhere near Ashton’s room. I already have one problem in my head, I don’t want another.

I knocked on his door and waited for him to call me in but he didn’t. I knocked again, yet no response. I knocked for the third time and then I opened the door to walk in. Waking into the room, I felt relief to see Ashton asleep. At least I didn’t fail my first task. I still don’t know the consequences behind disobeying him and not being able to fulfill a task but
