A sharp scent of dust welcomed me as I walked into the storeroom. Oh, man! This place is so fucking dusty. I waved my hand dismissively, coughing out to the dust that just couldn’t quite dance through my nozzle.
I stepped into the room and started to look around, every corner of the room seemed to be screaming in desperate need of cleaning. Let's just get this over with. I walked to the front shelf, scanning the top shelves for the item I needed. There it was! I guess so. I took out a box that looks like an old jewelry box or something like that, I blow the dust off before I opened it. Just as I thought, it contained jewelry and a weird stuff that looks like jewelry. I took out a chain that was wrapped around something that looks like an eyeball."What the hell is this?" I muttered to myself gazing at it with a questioning brow. I dropped it back into the box and continued to look through it. Necklace, earrings, bangles, ankles- seriously, isn’t there anything worthwhile here? I roll my eyes in annoyance and closed it up. I ran my hands through the shelves, there aren’t anything that seems to get my attention.Down to the second shelf, I scrolled my eyes at the dusty arranged books. Most of them are mythological books and not my cup of tea. I huffed already exhausted by this.Scrolling….. Scrolling…. Scrolling….. Books, artworks… blah….blah….. I halted my count as I came across a necklace wall. The necklace hung around it looks very similar to mine, it’s so familiar to me. My brows wrinkled as I took a closer look. I was about to take it off the necklace wall when I heard footsteps heading towards the store room. Oh shit! I instantly took the necklace and shoved it into my pants pocket and ran to hide behind the last shelf like a ninja. And just as I thought it wouldn’t get dustier it did. I held my cough in wanting not to get caught. I can’t afford to get caught here, whoever it is should please leave before I blow out the dust off my nozzle. The sound of the footsteps was clicking on the wooden floor and I can tell the person wore heels. I tried not to make any noise but those dusty clouds inside me just won’t quit until they get me sneezing. Screw this, I can’t stand those dusty things. I gently walked away from the shelves and as soon as I turned around to see who it was, my heart raced faster than my foot. Holy shit! She’s Ashton’s mother. Jane had told me a lot about her, she is cruel, wicked; even more wicked than normal werewolves. I bet she will feast on me if she finds out that I’m a human. With the look on her face, I can tell that she isn’t the smiley-face type of woman. Is there even any smiley-face person in the werewolf land?Jane actually never showed me Ashton's mother, all she said was that the lady looks like a truck of makeup crashed on her and a couple of surprises in it. So basically, there is a 1% percent chance that she isn’t the cruel woman I’m talking about but I can’t take that chance, can I?Lost in my thoughts, I found myself somewhere around the storeroom, and to myself, it’s very clean, with not a single blemish at the top or end. This is so weird, why will a part of the store room be extremely dusty and the rest is clean?I looked around the entire place, scanning and talking in bit by bit. There is a timid, bluish, pale light peeping from a window to my left, and it almost instantly blended with the diffuse lighting that was flooding the room, coming from the numerous festive lights tingling and hanging from the ceiling, fixed from wall to wall and around the window. Slightly to the left of it, a night table held a computer, and, behind it, stood an enigmatic little jewel box embellished with an exotic basrelief. This is very weird because this side of the room looks different and the other side looks like a whole other dimension. It’s like a human and a werewolf whereby a human is this side of the room, calm and happy, and the other side is the werewolf, well, you what werewolves are.Am I crazy or what? This is dazzling my eyes. I walked forward and, finally, the cardinal element of the room came into sight, a large painting, of who I’m guessing was the king or so. He was wearing a crown so yes. I think he was the king.Irradiating my surroundings, a tap on my shoulder distracted me from the observation. Holy shit! It’s time to face my fears. Speaking of the makeup witch, here she comes. Before I could turn around to face her, she spoke"Who are you?" Her voice alone shook me to the ground. I can’t feel my knees.I took a deep breath and turned to face her."I-I’m Maya," I responded.God! Look at her face, does she really thinks she looks beautiful with all those makeup on?"What are you doing here?" She asked almost immediately as I responded to her question. It won’t kill her to be less aggressive and calmer. I mean, she sounds like a lady who is venting her anger on the delivery who brought her the wrong package."I was Uhm, looking for the…."I don’t know what to say…. I think to think fast before she starts snarling at me. Maya, think, think, think….She turned her face away from me and gently walked over to the painting. "What do you see in this painting?" She asked looking at the paintingIs she seriously asking me that?"Uhm- I see a king" I responded"Just that?" She askedWhat else is on the painting? Who even cares about the painting?"Y-yeah.""Leave!" She instructedWhat? Her eyes drifted to me and she looked at me up and down; a strange look on her face. Even stranger than the makeup she had on.Is she angry, or is she shocked? I can’t tell but whatever it is, she covers it quickly. She pressed her lips on in line and swallowed. "You are Jane’s cousin" She scoffs gently walking toward me, not even trying to hide her dislike as she speaks"Uhm- yeah," I saidShe eyed me from head to toe before turning around as if she were swayed. "Never wander around the house again," She instructedI wasn’t wandering, woman. I was just looking around for some damn things about the mother fucker werewolf that feasted on my mom."You may leave now." She saidSure, I wasn’t willing to stay anyways, after all the rude looks you gave me even if you beg I wouldn’t stay."Okay," I say and walked out of the room. That lady is everything Jane said about her. She is weird, cruel, and even nastier but who am I to be surprised, I always knew werewolves are nothing like humans, they are just like animals. The least she could do right now is make sure the store room is cleaned up entirely.Lost in my wonders, I halted when I saw a bunch of men training. Actually, they are werewolves, and by God! Each of them looks hot! Look at those abs. I instantly blink my eyes to snap me out of my thoughts, werewolves are monsters, they can never be hot. Never. I watched them as they fought each other, some were lifting weights others were just exercising and most were doing things I don’t seem to understand. Aston stood in front and was instructing them, he and a guy, I couldn’t see the face of the guy because he was facing the other side.I turned my gaze to some guys who were lifting weights. They seem to be part of the most high-ranking werewolves, those muscular arms of theirs are threatening and damn-they are burning my eyes. Both looked at me, sniffing the air as I watched them. They both put down the weights and the most muscular one gave a strange questioning look as if he knows I have no wolf in me."You!" One of them said, "Are you a werewolf?" He questioned. Everyone’s attention drafted to me making me the center of attention.Holy shit! I’m screwed….I kept to where I stood, unaware of what to do. I know for sure that if he walks toward me and questions me, I will ramble like an idiot and probably won’t be able to defend myself. My mind kept telling me one thing; run Maya run. But I know that if I run, I won’t make it anywhere, and worse, his doubts will be cleared and then everything will be over, I will be hanged to death and my revenge will never be fulfilled. "Are you a werewolf?" He asked again dropping the weights on the ground. I nodded in agreement gulping the lump in my throat. "Are you sure?" He asked I nodded instantly stepping backward. I seriously did not expect to be caught on my first day. I haven’t found anything about that bloody wolf and I’m not ready to go leave. I have to do something, but what?A smile tugged around the corner of his lips as his eyes rank every inch of my body. It was like he was checking me out. I’m sure he is wondering if I’m good enough to be feasted on or not."What kind of hybrid are y
I have been avoiding Willow throughout yesterday, after that threat, I’m not sure if I want to be anywhere near her. I’m not afraid of her but I’m afraid of those eyes of hers. It reminded too of him- the monster werewolf. The way her eyes flickered at me was scary and I can’t seem to forget about it. Now there are two sets of eyes hunting me, how can this get any worse- oh wait, it will totally be worse if today turns out to be a disaster. Which will hopefully not be since I have planned my day. Last night, when I went back to the store room to look for the map of the house, but instead I found something even greater than the house map. I found the map of the whole town, and I can’t wait to use it. I figured with the map of the town, I can go door-to-door looking for the werewolf, and not only that, I can use the map to plot a path through the streets to avoid any encounters with the werewolf. I want to get to him before he gets to me. Putting the map in my backpack, I zipped it clo
"Where did you get this from?" She asked but before I could answer she looked at me and that profound expression she had on her face made me nervous"I know something about her." She said. "Really, you do?" I asked excitedly. I can’t express how much happy I am to finally meet someone that knows something about my mom. It makes me feel like I’m a step closer to finding the monster werewolf. "What do you know about her?" I asked "I know so many things about her. She was someone very important in this land.""Really?""Yes dear, but I can’t tell you much about her right now." She said "Why not?""It’s not safe here." She responded "It’s not safe?" I questioned gazing at the environment. There wasn’t anything dangerous about it. "Why isn’t it safe?""You won’t understand. We can’t be caught talking about her. If we are, we will bare losses and endure the consequences." The woman said sounding profound. I will be lying if I say that she isn’t scaring me. "Why? Did something bad hap
I felt the scream trying to rip its way up my throat as panic took over. What have I gotten myself into? They began walking round and round around me roaring. My lungs constricted and my body went cold. That this moment I know I am going to die. No one is coming to save me. One of the werewolves began walking towards me he roared loudly to my face and by just looking at these incredibly sharp teeth of his, I knew he was ready to eat me. His hand danced around my body and before I knew it he ripped off the jacket I was wearing. I let out a whimper as I squeezed my eyes shut hoping to stop crying. I wanted to beg him to stop, I wanted to run away but I am too scared to do that. I screamed at the pain of the scratches on my arm. Maybe he wanted to rip my sleeve off and might have taken out my skin as well. My eyes were still closed, and I heard a motorcycle sound coming in our direction. A sudden wind nipped at my face and I realized the werewolf wasn’t standing next to me. Maybe his go
"Maya I need you to-" Jane’s voice chipped into the room but halted her sentence once she saw me packing my bags. "Why are you packing?" Jane asked walking toward me. "I am leaving, I don’t think I want to stay here anymore." I responded shoveling my clothes inside the suitcase "But why? I thought you weren’t leaving until you find the werewolf." She sat beside the suitcase "I am not doing that anymore, I don’t think I will be able to find the werewolf, I don’t think I will be able to get my revenge." I said "Why would you think that Maya?""I am weak, I can’t fight, I can’t do anything. I can’t even protect myself." I think I am the most pathetic human on earth. I have been living my life thinking of one thing- a perfect way to seek my revenge but now that I am out, I can’t even do that. "What are you talking about, you can do it, Maya. You came all the way from the human world, I am sure you can do it." She said "I can’t. Victoria is right, I can’t seek my revenge even if I w
Jane told me that there will be a party happening tonight, and I have to be very careful because the event will be packed with so many werewolves. I told her that I didn’t want to attend but she says I have no choice. According to everyone, I am an unmated werewolf which makes it very necessary for me to attend. She even explained the essence of the event so I can understand why I have to attend but to be honest, after all the explanation, I didn’t understand a word she said. Jane told me all that information at the last minute so I didn’t even have much time to think of what I will wear. Even if she had told me this earlier, I wouldn’t have figured out the best dress to wear. I took a quick shower to freshen up and then I wore a blue floral dress with black flat shoes. I put a beautiful little bow on my hair after packing it into a ponytail. Jane said I have to look outstanding so I think this bow will shine the whole look.I smile at my reflection in my full-length mirror, I can’t
My eyes never let the man with the golden cloak, I won’t let him leave without me seeing his face. Once he took off the cloak I began walking toward him, I don’t want to run toward him because I don’t want to look suspicious. The entire dance floor was crowded so it was quite hard to keep track of him mostly because he was walking away. Taking more steps toward him, someone bumped into me and his cloak nipped at my face. As I shoved it away from my face, I looked in the direction I was heading; the golden cloak man was gone. I pushed people out of the way, yet I couldn’t find a trace of him. Shit! "I am so sorry." The guy that bumped into me said "Your apology isn’t gonna help me." I screeched at him. This is all his fault. I would have seen the werewolf if it wasn’t for him and his stupid red cloak. I immediately got the position he was standing earlier, I looked around, and there wasn’t a sign of him. Did he vanish or what! I scanned the entire place, yet no sign of him. Even
My eyes started to slowly open; slightly hazy. I turned around and saw someone standing by the window, talking to a man that is almost the same height as him. I couldn’t see who it was because my eyes are yet to be cleared."Are you sure what you’re saying is correct?" The man standing by the window asked"Yes, hundred percent.""Okay. You can leave but remember, you know nothing." The man nodded and walked out. Once my eyes cleared they began adjusting to the brightness of the room. "Oh, God," I mumbled, touching my forehead. My head is burning, I think I am going to have the worst headache. I massage my temples as a sigh escapes my mouth. The first person my eyes saw was Ashton. He is standing by the window. "What hap-""You fainted," Ashton responded immediately knowing that it is the exact question I was going to ask."Oh, my God." I slam my head back on the pillow. How wouldn’t I faint, a gigantic wolf was about to eat me. Taking a deep breath, Ashton tug his hands into his pan
