Dealing with the Brat
Klaira BlainsPlease note that I will be forced to take several days off writing due to recovering from joint replacement in a finger. This recovery time is only to get past the initial trauma of the surgery. My full recovery will take 3-6 months. So, if my writing becomes sporadic it is because I am typing 1 handed 4-5 novels. Management explained that the entire building is hard to be closed because of a health and safety issue. The aging sewer system was flooded and backed up be a severe rainstorm. Malcolm sat in his office at the firm for the first time in what felt like forever. Only it was temporary. As the primary share owner of this firm, he’d have to move upstairs to a new office and into a corner office. He knew this day would eventually come and he could see everyone was on pins and needles as they waited for the axe to fall and who would get the boot? This was happening at the worst of times. Malcolm came home from the office to find Melody torn between playing with little David and his blocks. She was making towers, and he was knocking them down. Chatting happily with him. He noticed David was drooling quite a bit, and he worried for a moment before he remembered David probably was teething and would be off and on for many months. He’d read that in one book Jordan had found. This would be a messy time in their lives. He wasn’t sure how long the condo would survive David, his diaper, food, drool, learning to stand and walk. Melody had been trying to work out what to do with the flooded shop. Pretty much she and Ellie needed to get down there to assess -the damage and lead the clean up. Jordan entered the private dining room of the Humber Valley Pack’s flagship restaurant, the Sentinel’s Feast. Situated in an old historic Toronto Dominion Bank building that dated to the beginning of the city. The private dining room was for Shifter use only and found in the building’s basement. The hardest part of the night was getting all the large shifters down the narrow staircase with no one’s fears of enclosed spaces being triggered. By the time everyone was in the spacious dining room, there were close to thirty people or more there. It was a meeting room only with all the Alphas and Betas from each pack. Melody finally got David to sleep. It was one of the hardest things she had to do as a mother. David loved her and was so aware of her. Right from the beginning, he somehow knew that not everything was right with her, no matter how hard she tried to ignore it, hide it, or pretend something wasn’t bothering.
