Explanations Lead Only to More Questions

Ellie felt rested but sore. How did she end up with a dominant wolf interested in her? She could feel the aftermath of her last encounter with his needs, and she felt conflicted. Her body ached for more, but her mind kept reminding the scary wolf. Danger, danger!

“Ah… you’re awake. Hm… You’ve missed quite a bit.” Jordan stood in nothing but a towel, his hair wet and tousled, his chest still bore drops of water. He held a second towel in hands.

“What did I miss?” Ellie was fearful of asking, but she’d never find out about it if she didn’t ask him.

“David’s first time in daycare went well. Malcolm has finally settled back to working and being productive. Melody signed all the papers without a fuss.” Jordan sauntered slowly toward the bed. The towel at his waist slipped a fraction of an inch before he stopped beside the bed.

“What papers did she sign?” Ellie didn’t like how this sounded. He wore that predatory smile she’d recognized as something she had
