CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

He looked down painfully.

"You're not comfortable with me. Do you hate me that much?"

He broke the silence.

Leila shifted her gaze to him.

The waiter brought their appetizer.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome. Enjoy your meal."

Leila fixed him with a penetrating stare.

Was he dying anytime soon?

Why was he behaving strangely?

Why did he care now if she hated him?

He did not care about her or anybody. He was a heartless monster who always wanted to be pleased.

So why did he care now?

Leila raised her eyebrows.

"Why did you care? Why did it matter now?"

She had loved him, and what did she get in return?

He had caused her a lot of pain. It was crazy that she had to endure it even when it was killing her.

She had stayed and continued with work.

She blinked back tears.

"I hate you. With every ounce of my breath."

She hated him for the pain he had caused her. She hated him for still loving him till this moment despite all the pain he had caused her.

His jaw was clenched tight.
