Family?

Kayden called the police and made a complain, two strange people broke into his apartment. The special police unit came in a hurry since Kayden had tagged the case, life threatening, he didn’t need to provide the evidence, his money and reputation is enough.

That was the world he lived in, since he has the power, he could do anything and everything he wanted.

He will make sure Cassandra and her shitty fraud boyfriend will rot in jail; she will pay dearly for this deceit; nothing in this world would make him forgive her.

Cassandra and Dylan got arrested, they were both clueless as to why they are getting arrested and when they asked, they were refused of every information. Kayden even though he had gotten them arrested to be locked away till he’s satisfied, he still wasn’t satisfied.

She needs to know what she is guilty of.

Later that he visited Cassandra in the holding cell she was kept, he wanted to give her one last chance.

“Kayden!” she screeched in relief as soon as she saw him, she gripped on to the iron bars tightly. “I don’t know why, but these armed men suddenly burst in and arrested me and Dylan.” Kayden was silent, as he stared at her in disgust.

“Honey, I’m scared. Please get me out of here.” She begged as she reached for his hands, he evaded her hands and surprise became evident in her baby blue eyes. “Kayden, is something wrong?”

“You want to know if something is wrong?” he asked with a small scoff.

“I’m saying I got arrested for something I didn’t do.” Her voice was small and almost inaudible, she could only hope he didn’t find out, he was asking suspicious.

“I want to ask you something and I want you to answer me honestly, Cassandra.” She nodded vehemently, still curious about his sudden change in tone and attitude. “Do you even love me?”

“Kayden, what are…” He interrupts her sharply. “Just answer my question, god-dammit!” He snaps banging one hand on the iron bar, Cassandra jolts in surprise.

“I-I l-l-love you.” She stuttered and Kayden regarded her with disgust in his eyes.

“What about Dylan?” He interrogated her curiously, she froze for a while, staring helplessly into his eyes, she didn’t know what to say, what he knows.

“Kayden, he’s my brother, don’t you remember?”

“Cassandra, you dirty liar,” The now condescending tone surprised her a lot.

“Kay, are you mad at me? Why are you so angry?” her lips quivering, she knew he had found out the truth now, that much was evident; but she didn’t want to give up. “Even now, you can’t look me in the eyes and tell me the damned truth. Is Dylan your brother or lover?” He rasped.

“L-look, I don’t know you told you that, but they are lying, Dylan is my brother, the only person I truly love is you.” Tears was now streaming down her eyes, her heart pounding in her chest.

Kayden fell silent and she used the opportunity to try to manipulate him.

“Honey, I don't understand you.” She sniffs, wiping off the tears from her cheeks. “Why doubt me now? We’ve been dating for four years now; we are about to be married. You should know people won’t like that, this is an opportunity to ruin our relationship, please don’t let them.”

He slammed his fists on the bars making her flinch away again; he was showing her sides she had never seen before. “Don't you dare act like you are innocent, I heard you both myself.” Cassandra was dumbfounded, she didn't know how he found out. “If you were cheating on me, isn’t it common logic to at least close the door?”

It was Cassandra’s turn to be quiet, if he had heard them, then he must have heard everything, even… she glanced up at him, praying he didn’t hear that part. “I should wait to listen to how Dylan was going to eliminate me, you bunch of amateurs.”

“I-I’m sorry, Kayden. I-It’s not what you think.” She begged.

“Fine, explain yourself. What did you mean then?” Silence engulfs them once more, she squeezed her eyes tightly, words failing her, this was what she feared the most, being found out.

“Kayden forgive us,” she finally said dropping on her knees, her eyes glued to Kayden’s designer shoes. “I know I don’t deserve forgiveness, especially everything you have done for me.”

“You know that, then why do you ask for forgiveness?” her breath hitched in her throat, she had nothing to say.

“Why should I forgive rotten scums like you and your lovers?

“Didn't you both have the plan to take everything that belonged to me? And then kill me if I turn out to be nosy?” Her mouth went dry and from the way he was looking at her, she could see his hurt evident in his silvered eyes. They both stood there in the silence just listening to each other’s breath.

“I'm sorry Kayden, forgive me please.” she said breathlessly. “It's not what you think Kayden.” He nodded with a bitter smirk as he increased the tension on the bar. “Yeah indeed,” he muttered. 'Because I thought you loved me.'

“Kayden please,’ she begged trying to touch his now blooded fist.

“I'm sorry Cassie, but I don't know how to forgive you and it's over between us.” with that being said, he withdrew his hands and began walking away ignoring Cassandra's pleas.

He walked outside and towards his cars, his hands balled into a fist, ignoring everyone and everything that came towards his path. It felt as though his heart was pulled out violently from his chest: he loved Cassandra, like he would love no other, she was his everything, and she stabbed right in the chest. He had hoped and prayed she would confess to him if he had asked her, but she denied it until the end, she was shameless, a brazen liar and a gold-digger.

He is also fucked; he had mindlessly tweeted his wedding and has also reserved a meeting for the media tomorrow. Things are not looking too good for him, especially since he markets his brand through his social media influence, playing on the media could cause a very nasty backlash; especially when his rival company finds out, the worst that could happen is loss of billions of dollars, which could also mean bankruptcy.

Agony seized him as he drove, over speeding his car just to calm himself down.

He barged into his company confused and frustrated, work was going on as usual, some of his workers stopping to say a small good morning before they continued what they were doing. He didn't even get enough sleep the previous night, he was mad at everything.

He was completely out of his world but he maintained his cool demeanor, he would not want to be viewed as a weak man, especially by his workers. Something else that worried him deeply was, in less than two hours the press will come flooding in and he has no fiancée to show for, he is going to look like a fool and the thought alone is driving him insane. He sank into his leather chair and went deep in thought; he needs to come up with a plan as soon as possible.

Should he retweet and call the announcement a prank?

No, that just sounds so unprofessional, and what will he tell the press, or his workers? No one is a fool.

He flung his head backwards in frustration, playing with the tires of his seat.

He suddenly heard arguments and some noise from outside his office, it bothered him but he was sure Laurie can handle it.

Suddenly the door to his office burst opened, he jolts in surprise when a hooded lady ran inside, Laurie and Dora followed in haste. “Madam, you can’t be doing this!” Laurie yells.

The lady immediately sat on the rug as soon as she was in, while Laurie and Dora confusedly tried to drag her out.

“What the hell is going on here?” Kayden shouted rising from his chair.

“I'm sorry boss, we just couldn't hold her, she’s very strong and violent.” Laurie said while Dora tried helping her drag the lady out, but this stubborn thing wouldn’t budge. “Let go of me! I have to talk to you Mr. Smith.” She yells back, pulling herself from them. What the actual fuck, he didn't know how to handle the commotion in his office with his own confusion at hand.

“Who the hell is she?” he asked stopping them.

“Mr. Smith, please give me five minutes, just five minutes of your time, I need to talk to you.” She kicked Dora and she moved backwards a little bit before stumbling to the ground.

“I don't know sir, she requests to speak to you and since you didn't have an appointment, I told her to wait but she didn't want to.” His eyes turned from Laurie to the strange woman, her face was already forming a slight pinkish color. It seemed like she had been crying for hours.

She looked very familiar like he had seen her somewhere before; but he just didn’t know where.

She was dressed like a high schooler wearing a big oversized hoodie that was stained with paint and it stopped just above her knee, but a white gown progressed to her knee. she was also wearing black boots that looked rather fancy.

“It's okay, you may leave me alone with her.” Laurie hesitated for a moment but Kayden nodded, and it took few minutes before she and Dora disappeared through the door leaving him with the stranger.

“So why do you want to talk to me? Who are you?” He started in this unsure voice, she got on her knees. “Do you want money?” He asked stepping further away from her. “Please get up from your knees.”

“I want you to please forgive my sister,” she sniffed and she then pulled off the hoodie from her head revealing a clean sweep of golden-brown locks, her oval face became visible and he could see her delicate features clearer.

She was as pretty as a doll, and the fact that this unknown lady was on her knees, crying in his office, baffled Kayden a lot.

Her forget me not blue eyes were filled with tears, the more he looked the more familiar she is. “And who the hell is your sister? I don’t even know you.” he asked confused.

“I'm Crystal Dante, my sister, Cassandra was your fiancée.”
