The Consequences

Her jaw dropped in astonishment. Confident she had misheard Sean, she asked him to repeat his line.

"She died six years ago," Sean repeated. The word confusion couldn't even explain what she felt at that moment. How could she be dead six years ago when she was serving here in the castle five years ago? Did she hallucinate her five years ago? Was she seeing a ghost? But she had other maids interacting with the old woman. What sorcery is this?

Sorcery.

It has to be sorcery for nothing else made sense. If Cornelia was dead who was here in her place and why her body was found in the woods after six years of her death? The puzzle was making her head spin. She asked Sean the cause of her death. The reply answered some questions but birthed many more questions.
