My senses stirred as a gentle hand glided across my cheek, rousing me from my slumber. Reluctant to open my eyes, I buried my face into the pillow only to be met with a melodic chuckle that instantly revealed the mischievous culprit.

"Time to wake up, my love. We have somewhere important to be." He murmured.

"Where?" I mumbled, rolling on my side, the remnants of drowsiness clinging to me like a stubborn fog.

"For your checkup. I spoke with Tristan and he'll be seeing you today."

In an instant, all traces of sleepiness dissipated into thin air. I jolted upright, catching him off guard as he blinked in surprise.

"Really? You spoke to him?"

"Yes, I did," He recovered out of the startled daze quicker than I'd thought and sat beside me, "He has encountered countless unusual cases, some even bearing similarities to ours though albeit in different forms. So he's optimistic that we can find a way out."

"Oh," His words gave me a bit of hope but that was not it.
