Ella reluctantly took the thing in the man’s hand and when she looked at it, her eyes widened in shock and her heart thumped hard.

It was a cheque with so many zeros. She had to squint her eyes just to count the zeros. When she was done, she jerked her head and looked at the man, utter disbelief was written all over her face.

With her trembling voice, she asked, “What is this for?”

“Investment,” Daniel said without batting an eyelid.

“But… this is not the amount we agreed upon!” Ella said. Although she so badly wanted financial resources, she was not going to take advantage of someone.

“About that, I recently got some money and I did not know where to invest it. I thought that maybe I should give it to you. Of course, I am not going to give it away for free, nor am I willing to throw away so much money.”
