Matt just stayed quiet as his daughter held on to his hands. He ran his left hand in his hair before he stood up. He placed his hands on her shoulders.

"I can't," He started as he cleaned the stray tears away from her face.

"I can't follow you home," He completed his first sentence. I saw as Maddie's face drained like they sucked out all the life in it.

"I have things to do, thin-"

"What things are important than me!" He got interrupted by a angry Maddie.

"Why can't it wait? I don't need anything at the moment i just want your fucking presence in my life!" Fresh streams of tears gushed down here face.

"What sort of thing takes you eleven years?" Her voice reduced. They became soft and calm like the wind on a calm Sunday afternoon.

Matt just stared at his daughter unable to say a word. I saw as tears dropped from his eyes. I walked over to Maddie and i grabbed her hands.

"I told you, he is not worth you, you deserve better," I said to her.
