The man who was on his knees before me didn’t look like he was a residence of Reveldron at all.
He had dark skin, like the shade of honey, only a bit darker. His tousled Jet-black hair and murky black eyes set him completely apart from the crowd. Though his tan made him look softer like a sepia tone on a photograph, his dark eyes seemed very aggressive at a glance. However, he maintained a novel aura around himself and his posture did speak for himself as one could tell he really was one from the knighthood.
I peered at him with squinted eyes, waiting for him to get himself off the floor, but he was like a rigid sculpture and was not about to move from his position without my permission.
Zylith. You guys must be thinking, drugging a guard or two with slumber dust is not much of a big deal, right? I mean, after all, I am their Queen superior, and its not like its gonna harm them or anything, right? But, wrong; You guys are so very wrong. But I can't blame you here, because I thought the same.I thought, what trouble could a little slumber dust here and there bring me. Now as I was staring at the scene of a mass of epileptics sprawled on the cold hard floor outside my bedchambers, I realized it brought me big troubles.Slumber dust, as the name suggests is a shimmery magical powder that puts one to a cataleptic kind of sleep for a certain period of time. It has a silky texture to it and no matter the
Zylith. When I was a kid, I dreamt of wanting to be a retired lottery winner when I grow up, not an aging royal elderly inside a sealed library on a fine sunlit day.I looked out of the closed and bolted windows of the Royal library, and silently stared at the bustling capital below which appeared more like dollhouses rather than a real panorama, and secretly sighed all over again. And then I turned my gaze back to the grumpy old hag.... (Ahem!) I mean grumpy old lady before me and exhaled heavily. At her age, she should have one foot in the grave rather than torturing me with heavy books mentioning royal decorum.Countess Regina Wroth, was the finest of the fine etiquette instructors the nation of Reveldron had to offer. She was a frail old woman who always had a very gentle expression on. At a glance, her gait looked as if wonky
Zylith.Actually, the so-called Royal etiquette was not only limited to the Countess's 'Ready-to-go' command. Everyone, including the Queen Dowager and the nobles were keenly observing my movements from the moment they set foot into this ballroom.I could tell they were trying hard to nit-pick my mannerisms and the way I carried myself. My inspection had started the moment I was surrounded by there bloodhounds and vipers. So I had to be very careful when I socialized with these supposed high-end bigwigs. In fact, the Royal customs were not really something mere nobles could be a judge of. While being under the torturous tutoring of Old Hag Wroth, I discovered that all the etiquettes and proprieties I had previously learnt were nothing but a child's play. The Royal customs were much more complicated than that. Even though the Hag'
Zylith."It was all you!" The livid Countess Wroth pointed her bony fingers at me and bellowed like a fanatic old wacko. I didn't think it was necessary to show any reactions to her futile accusations. Hence, I remained expressionless while only staring at her pitiful form without a word."How dare you point at a Royal!" Alexteris bellowed in sheer wrath. Let me tell you something, accusing a Royal of a felony without evidence was a treason all on its own. Now that the Countess Wroth dared to point her fingers at me, Alexteris had every reason to charge her of treachery. So I silently cheered for the guy when he stood up in my defence. You go Lexter! Show them who's the Man! "N-No Your Majesty! I didn't mean tha-thaghh... She is the only one who had a reason to frame my family. I.. ghaa
Zylith.I turned around to come face to face with the impassive look of the fake mummy brat_ I mean Alexteris, my face in turn morphed into that of an awed kind. His countenance looked like he was spouting gold out of his piehole as he applauded me."Oh My! What was that Your Majesty? I didn't seem to have heard you properly. Can you repeat your words once more, please?" I took a step forward to lean in my eager ears as I prompted him to repeat his golden clad words.Alexteris's expression wrinkled into that of a crumpled paper. Although he was still in his mummy disguise, I could still tell his face looked so very ugly right about now. Might as he try, he could not really hide his bitter mien. I, on the other hand, was trying not to laugh at the face of this sour loser.".... (Ahem!) I see the Queen's ears have not been cleared of wa
Reuben."..... And? Is she dead now?" I asked Gilbert in an indifferent manner as I was being reported of the recent events that took place in the castle."Yes Your Majesty. Countess Wroth and her grandson had been dragged to the gallows by the earliest of daybreak the very next day and were executed." Gilbert nodded his head solemnly."Hah!(Scoff) It seems Beatrice couldn't wait to get rid of the Countess this time." Otherwise, the transgressions of two eminent nobles would have to go through many complicated trials and verdicts before coming to the last resort of execution. It clearly reeked of the Queen Dowager's stench since they were put to death without so much as a trial."Yes Your Majesty. It looks like this incident this time was related to the Princess." Gilbert answered."Hmm, no wonder she was s
Zylith."Alright, quick question! What is the first thing you notice when someone tries to approach me in my sleep?""The audacity!""Excellent!" I smiled in gratification."If you can't 'convince' them, what will you do?'"Simple! 'Confuse' them Sire." Liana chirped in a fervent tone."Yes, very good!" I clapped my hands in satisfaction."Okay, next one! What is the shortcut to being wise?""Just think of something stupid to say, but then don't say it?""Oh My! You've revised your lessons very well Liana." I smiled brightly at her."But...""Hmm? You have something to say?" I raised my brows and prompted her to continue."-W-Well Sire, lately there have been some malicious rumours going around." She bowed her head
Zylith.I've always known that I'm the kind of person who attracts lots of excitements wherever I go, and it had gotten rather lively since I had arrived at the castle of Reveldron. But I didn't realize that my kinks of attracting excitements were rubbing off on my subordinates as well.Until yesterday that is.What made me believe in such outrageous superstations you say? Please do hear me out first.Yesterday, at the brink of twilight, when the day met the night, I was returning from my usual evening stroll when I happened to meet Lord Xavier on my way. I felt like it was finally fate's work at play when I saw him walk towards me while flaunting that regal aura of his. From the moment I first set my eyes upon him, there was something enticing about him, from the way he moved to his slightly long hair and mysterio
