Chapter 4 - Fearless Three

Liiza's POV

School has been going as boring as it has always been, withe time slowing down whenever we need it to go fast. After a whole hour of boredom, the bell finally rang for lunch.

Rilee and I went to our usual place in the cafeteria, by the windows, before Zach and his three new friends joined us.

"Hey girls," Zach greets.

"Hey Cupcake." I reply.

"Ooooh Cupcake, huh?" Caleb teases, wiggling his eyebrows.

"Hey, why doesn't my girlfriend let me give her pet names?" Jack whines.

"Look, Jack, if your girlfriend let you give her pet names, you would probably call her something stupid like Chipmunk," Caleb slides down beside Rilee.

Chipmunk is actually not that bad honestly.

"Hey!" Jack frowns. "How did you know that I was gonna call her that?"

"Why don't you guys describe your girlfriends to us? I really want to get to know them!" I interrupt.

"Yeah, I'm so excited to meet them," Rilee adds.

"I'll go first," Jack says, raising his hands.

"My girlfriend's name is Stephanie. We would be dating for 2 years at the end of this month. She's a movie fanatic and a total extrovert. Also, she loves shopping and food."

"Now me," Caleb smiles. "My girlfriend's name is Christina and we have been dating for about 3 years now. She's really into shopping, and she’s so friendly."

"This leaves Dylan" Rilee smiles.

"Right." Dylan begins. "My girlfriend's name is Sierra. We have been dating for around a year as well. She is not very social but when she gets to know you more, she opens up and is so gorgeous. I guess she likes reading and stuff."

"They seem really nice" I say.

"Yup," Jack says, popping the 'P' "Now that we all have described our girlfriends," He turns to Zach. "It's your turn to describe Liiza for us."

"Uh, sure," Zach pauses, glancing my way. "Liiza and I have known each other since we were babies but we really became good friends when we were about 3. We were best friends, and still are. Liiza is an awesome girl and she is absolutely beautiful. She's always there for me when I need her and has never left my side. She is the best friend, the best sister and the best girlfriend anyone could ever ask for." Zach smiles at me and I smile back shyly.

Everyone in our group starts clapping Zach, making me blush.

"Awwww! You guys are so cute" Rilee coos.

"And what are you all happy about?" A voice behind me interjects.

I turn to see the tall frame of Jayden standing behind me.

Zach lifts himself to his feet and they do their bro hug. Zach introduces Jayden to the others as Rilee's boyfriend.

Jayden kisses her on the cheek and plops down next to her. Rilee was blushing the whole time. I must say, he's good.

As we are finishing eating, the bell rings and we walk to our lockers to get our books. Mine and Rilee's lockers are together and we also had the same period next, which is History.

We enter the class and take our seats beside each other, towards the back of the classroom. A silence settles over the class as the teacher paces into the room.

"Good morning students. Today we are going to be summarising-"

She is brought to a halt as the door suddenly opens to no other than the three boys. Andree, Ken, and David aka the 'Fearless Three'.

Andree has dark brown, messy hair, ocean blue eyes, and smattering of freckles. He is a total bad boy.  He never gets good marks, and even bullies some kids in the younger years. He's a player. You can always see him flirting with girls or eating off their faces.

Ken has blonde hair with light brown eyes. He is also a bad boy- they all are. He's like a real life Barbie. A real life Ken. I'm pretty sure he plays guitar. He's a really good friend of Zach’s.

David is dark skinned and drop dead gorgeous. He is absolutely jacked. Girls pawn after him and I totally understand why. I think he's a whole lot smarter than the other two. He and Ken are not as "bad" as Andree. He also hangs out with Zach sometimes, but not as much as Ken does.

"Good to see you here boys,"  Mrs. Kant says with pure sarcasm.

"Good to see that you have time to teach us too Mrs. Kant" Andree answers, making some people snicker.

The teacher ignores the comment, telling them to take their seats, and continues teaching.

"So, as I was saying, today we are gonna be learni-" Once again, she was cut off by the knocking of the door. This time it wasn't the boys. It was Jayden.

"And who could you be?" Mrs. Kent asks, clearly annoyed by all the interruption.

"I'm Jayden, Jayden Mayer. I'm a new student and I started today." Jayden replies..

"Ok, well then take a seat please" She gestures at him in.

Jayden makes his way to the back but before he passes us, he drops a note on Rilee's desk.

She opens the note, her cheeks red, then glances back at Jayden dreamily.

"What was on that note?" I ask Rilee after class finished. She just giggles, passing me the scrap of paper.

Rilee, Zach and I walk to the parking lot after school, and see Jayden- but he wasn't alone. He was with another girl, leaning on his car, whispering in her ear. She giggled, pressing her hand on his chest. They were very close.

I glance at Rilee. Her disappointment is all over her face.

"Rilee don't mind him. He has been like that all his life and he just hasn't changed. I'm sorry." I say, trying to comfort her.

We reach the car and Rilee is still absolutely silent. Zach begins driving to the exit, when Jayden waves us down.

Zach stops the car, winding down the window. "Hey! Could I possibly get a lift home, man?"

"Why don't you just go and keep flirting with Caitlin," Zach replies, driving away.

That doesn't even make sense.

"Rilee wanna get some ice cream before we go?" I ask gently. Ice cream always makes things better.

"Sure." she mutters.

We arrive at the ice cream parlor- a retro style shop with plush red diner style booths and black and white checkered floor. We all order our ice creams- I take the pistachio , Zach vanilla and Rilee, caramel.

"What happened between you guys and Jayden?" Rilee breaks the silence.

I freeze. What do we tell her?

I lock eyes with Zach.

Should we tell her the truth?
