“The worst I can do is to compensate for the breach of contract,” Mandy replied.

“Compensate?” Wilson's eyes narrowed coldly. "Do you think you can afford to pay for the recent drop in Birch Group's stock value and the negative impact caused by your actions?"

Mandy’s eyes widened. She wondered if Wilson was really going to blame all that on her.

"If you can pay it, then I can pretend nothing ever happened," Wilson said.

Mandy shouted, "Do you think you can make me pay for all that?! The law doesn’t work that way!”

"Is that so? Then let’s see what the law says and how many years you’ll spend in jail," Wilson said calmly as if Mandy’s fate was already decided.

Mandy trembled in fear. "Don’t do this to me. This is all your fault! Why should I pay for the consequences?!”
