Chapter 40: Voice

"Wait, love . . . I'll go with you," Gavin stopped me as I was about to get out of the car when we were already at the entrance of Heavenly Memorial Garden.

"No, love,” I declined. “You can just wait for me here. I'll be right back."

He frowned at what I said, a sign that he did not agree with what I wanted. So I quickly kissed him on the lips, a trick that I learned in persuading him and also one of his weaknesses.

"Please, love?" I pleaded and clasped my hand with puppy eyes just to complete my persuasion.

After a while, he sharply exhaled.

"Fine. Just be careful, okay?" he then muttered which made me smile.

My cuteness is effective.

I just giggled at the thought.<
