Chapter 62: Cousins

“W-what? T-that can’t be true,” I stuttered in disbelief, lips trembling.

Yvo then exasperatedly sighed. “That’s why I don’t want to tell you about this. Just calm down, okay? We still didn’t figure out everything,” he comforted me but it doesn’t calm me down. “The van may be registered on his name but there’s a possibility that it’s not him who’s driving that night. It could be someone else.”

“B-but what if he is? I’m s-sorry, Yvo,” I mumbled and cried in his arms.

“Shh, stop,” he hushed me and engulfed me in a tight embrace. “Don’t be sorry, love, you didn’t do anything wrong. Stop blaming yourself.”

I just nodded but I can’t stop my fucking tears from falling. I feel disgusted with myself because I fall in love with the man I shouldn’t be. He might be an accomplice o
