I emptied the bottle of whiskey into my mouth and smashed the empty bottle on the floor. With a groan, I stood to my feet and walked to the window. I inhaled deeply and perceived the fresh air coming from the garden downstairs.

I knew I was between the devil and the deep blue sea. Either I let Mia go, or she loses her wolf and abilities, and who knows what might happen to her.
