I emptied the bottle of whiskey into my mouth and smashed the empty bottle on the floor. With a groan, I stood to my feet and walked to the window. I inhaled deeply and perceived the fresh air coming from the garden downstairs.

''What will you do now that the seer has confirmed that the box in his hand is the actual box,'' Eric asked, while I remained silent because I didn't have a response.

I was damn confused and scared. Mia has gone through a lot. Firstly, she lost her mother, and then I maltreated and rejected her, and now I can't let her lose her wolf and abilities; she might not survive it. ''Maybe you should tell her about it,'' My wolf suggested, but I kicked against it, ''You heard what he said.'' I groaned and walked back to the bed. I knew I was between the devil and the deep blue sea. Either I let Mia go, or she loses her wolf and abilities, and who knows what might happen to her.

With a frustrated sigh, I glared at the clock at my bedside and saw that
